Baseball Victoria is excited to announce the Victorian Youth Women’s State Team roster, filled with exciting young talent who will play for the #AYWC2023 Simone Wearne Cup at Melbourne Ballpark this April.
“Thank you to all the awesome girls who tried out for the team. It was great to see such strength throughout the tryouts and we are proud of each and every one of these players,” BV Youth Women’s Head Coach Dean Anglin said. “We look forward to the next few months of training and preparing leading up to the tournament, and we can’t wait to play at Melbourne Ballpark as we chase the cup.”
The 2023 Australian Youth Women’s Championship will run from Saturday 8 April to Tuesday 11 April, coinciding with the Australian Women’s Championship from Friday 7 April to Thursday 13 April.
“Congratulations to all our youth women’s players who will suit up for Victoria at the Australian Youth Women’s Championship,” BV CEO Chet Gray said. “We are so excited to have this event back in Victoria, and we look forward to the reintroduction of the youth women’s tournament after last year’s Australian Youth Invitational. Best of luck to these representatives as their training program gets underway.”
Victoria previously won the Australian Youth Women’s Championship in 2018.
