The Chelsea Dolphins Baseball Club are pitching a new summer baseball season shortly, with newly appointed Head Coach Trevor Johansen as leader of the pod.
In announcing Johansen’s appointment, Dolphins president Belinda Worton said the club was excited to have Johansen take the top gig, adding he was the perfect fit to lead the team into the future.
“Trevor has helped lift the club to success we haven’t experienced in over 10 years. With all four teams likely to make finals this winter, as joint winter coach, Trevor has done a remarkable job. Trevor is well placed to build on the momentum created by our previous summer coach of three years, Brendan Robinson”.
“Trevor has also single handedly driven the development of our junior program where we fielded our first junior team in over ten years along with four t-ball and coach pitch teams as well. He has also brought a number of young international players to the club and he has taken them from a single playing group to valued players now integrated into all four of our teams. We are thrilled Trevor will lead the club into the summer 2015/16 season as Head Coach”.
She added, “Trevor is really excited to take on the role as Head Coach at Chelsea Baseball Club. His main priority is the development of our senior players to take their games to the next level and win a flag. He will also continue his outstanding work on the growth of our junior program. Those who play with Trevor know he is extremely passionate about the game of baseball and Chelsea Baseball Club, and we are confident he will help lift the Club to new highs.”
“I'm honored and privileged to be the next head baseball coach at Chelsea Baseball Club,” said Johansen, life member of Chelsea Baseball Club. “Chelsea Baseball Club has a supportive and dedicated committee and great players that can win championships,” Johansen continued. “I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity and I want to thank the committee for believing in me to the lead the Chelsea Baseball summer program.”
