Baseball Australia, in conjunction with Major League Baseball (MLB)
and State Associations, is excited to announce the MLB Australian Showcase. This event, part of MLB’s continued effort to
help grow the game in Australia, will provide an opportunity to emerging young
baseball players to display their talent, in six major Australian capital
cities.
Those athletes with little or no baseball experience are also encouraged
to participate in these showcases as baseball can provide numerous paths to
advance one’s education, represent Australia on an international stage, and
even open doors to a career in professional baseball.
“This is an opportunity to capitalise on the significant strides Baseball
Australia has made over the past several years, while also providing another goal
for young athletes to set their sights on,” said Giovanni Hernandez, Senior
Manager of International Baseball Operations for Major League Baseball.
Participants must be turning 13 or 14 in 2017 with a birth year of
2003 or 2004.
