Victoria wrapped up its fourth win of the 2022 Australian Women’s Baseball Championship with an impressive victory over Queensland Development on Monday.
The defending champions collected 12 hits and Gabby Bevan and Jamie Bastian combined to allow just one hit in a 16-0 win on diamond one at West Beach.

Victoria surged to an early lead, scoring five runs in the first. Back-to-back singles from Abbey McLellan and Lilian Bell-Tanner opened up a 2-0 lead for the Victorians.
A Maddy Patrick ground ball extended their lead ahead of Leslie Anglin’s two-run single making it 5-0. Bell-Tanner drove in another run in the second before Victoria added four more runs in the third and four in the fourth.
Abbey Kelly doubled and Jasmine Bentley singled to put Victoria up 12-0 in the fourth.
Bell-Tanner added a two-run double and finished with four RBIs. Morgan Doty and Emily Devine each had three hits for Victoria.
Bevan struck out two in two innings without a hit while Bastian struck out three in three one-hit innings.
Victoria will chase a fifth win of the tournament against Queensland Maroon from 4:30pm AEST on Tuesday.
