The VSBL Premier League 1 Firsts Finals Round 4 game between Malvern and Newport was suspended on Tuesday night due to a lighting outage.
Given the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the suspension of play (as confirmed on match sheet and with the umpires) the game will be completed tonight (given this is the only true feasible option we have in fairness to whichever team wins through to tomorrow night's next final).
Completion of Game: Malvern v Newport - TONIGHT Wednesday 18 March @ 7:30pm
Venue: Surrey Park (same as last night)
Time: 7:30pm start (to allow umpires, anyone coming from work, etc. to get organised and get there)
Play to Resume: Top of 9th innings (at exact point play was suspended)
Please note, teams must remain the same, and the situation must pick up exactly where it left off.
While less than ideal, it is only fair on both teams competing, given the nature of the suspension, to complete the game.
