Victoria ran away with an early lead to improve to 5-0 at the 2023 Australian Women's Championship at Melbourne Ballpark.
Lily Bell-Tanner's sacrifice fly and Nyah O'Brien's double scored two in the first. Ruby Dale reached on an error as a run scored.
Jess Johnson and Gabby Bevan singled to start the second before Maddy Patrick hit an RBI double. Two more runs scored as Simpson and Bell-Tanner grounded out, too.
O'Brien, Johnson, and Bevan loaded the bases with no outs in the third for Patrick, who picked up another RBI with a base hit. Bell-Tanner and Bebbere plated two each with base hits.
It was 12-0 heading into the bottom of the third, and Victoria added two more in the fourth with three walks, a Bevan's sacrifice fly, and Maddi Weller's single.
A final four runs came home in the fifth as Jess Brown walked with the bases loaded and Johnson hit a sacrifice fly. Bevan doubled on a fly ball to left and Weller hit a sacrifice fly.
Victoria tallied 12 hits in the game. O'Brien went 3-for-3 as Johnson, Bevan, and Patrick had two hits apiece.
The winners gave up just two hits, with Lili Cavanagh throwing 2.1 innings and striking out two. Jasmine Bentley struck out three and O'Brien put in an inning of work, too.
Next, Victoria heads into a huge clash with fellow undefeated side Western Australia - first pitch is 11am Wednesday.
