Baseball Victoria CEO Chet Gray received the Golden Diamond at the WBSC Congress in Taiwan this week.
Chet was awarded this prestigious honour by the WBSC Executive Board for his accomplishments as National Coaching Director, General Manager, and CEO with Softball Australia. He is the first Australian to be awarded the Golden Diamond.
"The Order of the Golden Diamond recognizes those people that contributed to the development of the WBSC and especially for the continuous support, cooperation, and assistance to concrete actions and contributions that made possible the widening of the horizons and the innovation and research in our sport," said WBSC Vice President and IOC Member Willi Kaltschmitt during the award introduction.
Chet said his award was "a very humbling honour and recognition to receive from the WBSC."
"There are so many great people I have met and worked with over the years who have been part of this honour as well," he added. "I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked and been part of two great sports over my journey as a sport administrator, coach and player."
Congratulations Chet!
