The best game of the weekend took place in Chelsea. A back-and-forth contest ended after the Bulldogs tallied thrice in the 11th inning to win an epic 8-6 game.
Connor Allen, Footscray’s young backstop, hit a clutch extra inning two-run double, before scoring a much needed insurance run.
Trent Winford amazingly threw the entire game for the Dolphins.
Currently holding the last finals-eligible spot, Footscray head to St Kilda next week.

In a rematch of last year’s Grand Final, the Rebels flipped the script and downed the Pumas, 7-3.
Scoreless through four, Pakenham tallied first in the top of the fifth, only to see Mulgrave answer right back in their home half. The same pattern repeated itself in the seventh. The eighth is where the Rebels secured the victory.
Scoring another single run in the eighth, the Pumas then allowed five to provide the winning margin.
Stuart Brunton started for Pakenham, falling one out short of a complete game. For the victorious side, Liam Richardson threw five innings, striking out four. Matthew Young finished the game.
At the dish, Caleb Poole scored three times, Stuart Phillips went 2-2 and Mitchell Upton drove in three.

Missed opportunities were the story at Tom O’Halloran Field on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
The Saints left an ungodly 16 men on base—including the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the ninth—in a demoralizing 6-5 defeat.
Up 1-0 after one and 2-1 after two, St Kilda surrendered two runs in the third and another one in the fourth in a game they would trail the rest of the way.
Multiple times the Saints got within one run but the Hunters were too strong on this day.
Tied with Pakenham with identical 8-5 records, St Kilda hosts 4-9 Footscray to finish off the 2016 portion of the schedule on Sunday.
